With QbVolume, Blickfeld expands its portfolio with an intelligent LiDAR solution specifically designed for precise real-time volume monitoring. The smart 3D LiDAR sensor continuously captures spatial data, processes it directly on the device, and provides reliable information on volume, fill levels, and material movement – fully automated, maintenance-free, and independent of location.

QbVolume has been specifically developed for applications in raw material management, production, and logistics. Whether bulk materials, granulates, or pallets – the sensor determines the volume of various material heaps and goods in real time with high precision. It supports companies with storage or transportation processes that rely on accurate volume data, such as those in the construction, mining, waste management, or distribution industries.

All-in-one solution based on extensive real-world project experience

Building on extensive experience from numerous customer projects, in which Blickfeld sensors have already been successfully used for volume monitoring, the company has now developed QbVolume – a product that combines hardware with software specifically designed for volume applications, and an intuitive data visualization dashboard in one compact sensor.

Thanks to Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) and optional WiFi connectivity, the system can be easily installed and flexibly integrated into existing infrastructures. A comprehensive range of accessories – such as mounting brackets, cables, and weather protection covers – ensures quick and straightforward installation.

Intelligent software for reliable volume data

The integrated Blickfeld software has been specifically developed and refined for volume measurement and monitoring. It translates the 3D LiDAR data captured by the sensor directly on the device into accurate and reliable volume values. Virtual, freely configurable measurement zones allow adaptation to individual use cases. The software also takes into account material shapes as well as storage angles and conditions – for example, in conical or cuboid zones.

Through the fusion of multiple LiDAR sensors, even large storage areas or complex measurement environments can be covered. An integrated dashboard provides clear visualization of all data and enables immediate analysis.

Reliable, robust, and maintenance-free in continuous operation

QbVolume delivers consistent precision and maximum reliability, even under demanding conditions. Its IP67-certified housing protects the sensor completely from dust and moisture, and the sensor provides stable measurement results even in rain, snow, fog, or bright sunlight. This makes QbVolume equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use, meeting the requirements of challenging industrial environments.

Its robust design without moving parts makes the sensor extremely durable and virtually maintenance-free. On-device data processing reduces system complexity and significantly simplifies installation. As a result, QbVolume enables reliable, cost-efficient, and continuously precise volume monitoring.
